[castor-dev] Extra spaces when pulling back an empty string from the database?

Hello,

 

I've noticed that when pulling an empty string back from MS SQLServer using castor JDO (v0.9.5) that an empty string is converted to a string with one space.  Is this a bug?  Is there anyway to prevent this behavior, which is undesirable in my situation?
