This sounds like a good solution to me. Executing a query in read-only
mode is something that many people don't use. It's actually very valuable
for loading large amounts of objects that may never be manipulated. IMO,
reloading the objects that will be manipulated is a small price to pay
for more intelligent handling of your objects.
