You have to remember that unless you are reading the email headers to
get an ip address to verify they are different, then you can't go by the
from address in an email. SMTP allows for email address spoofing and
sobig does just that. It may be one person on this list. Though, I
agree that security is always a top priority, and one should always have
a security plan.
That security plan should include not to use Outlook or anything from Microsoft for that matter. They are going after people and companies for not being in compliance with licenses, but can't even keep their own customers email safe.
Outlook users was extremely lucky that SoBig didn't send out their .docs...
What I find interesting is that not a single major newspaper here in Norway wrote one critical word of Microsoft in all of the articles they wrote about SoBig. Just one article mentioned that the virus was a Outlook-thing only.
