Throwing exceptions is expensive so I modified
org.exolab.castor.jdo.oql.Parser and org.exolab.castor.jdo.oql.Lexer to
not to depend on out-of-bound exceptions, but test the string before
trying to access a character.
I haven't tried to measure how much performance is gained by this, but I
think it is a noticeable improvement :-)
If this is of interest I can submit a patch, just need to do a cleanup
first...
