That bug has been fixed for a while now. It was incorrectly re-opened.

What people are forgetting is to map the imported namespace to a package
in the
castorbuilder.properties:

org.exolab.castor.builder.nspackages=\
  http://acme.com/namespaces/core=com.acme.imported

http://castor.exolab.org/sourcegen.html#Map-XML-namespaces-to-Java-packages

It's not very well explained on the website docs, I'll update that and
I'll also add this to the FAQ.
