that was my assumption too, but I just wanted some clarification. Actually, I'm working on a thesis about object-relational mapping and specifically about Castor JDO, and thus my curiosity.
Anyway, thank you for your prompt and helpful answers.
There'll be a lot more questions until I'm finished with my thesis. :-)
 
I can see that there's similar situation with set/getConfiguration().
If I only loadConfiguration(), getConfiguration() returns null. An explicit call to setConfiguration() is also required before getConfiguration().
