Nevertheless, this shouldn't stop us from discussing
Castor.
So,
I got another one regarding configuration and
connection.
I
found in mail archives that someone asked similar question on
getDatabase() but there was no update in API
documentation regarding that.
API
claims that the getDatabase() call creates connection, but no
JDBC connection is made as I can see, because I do not get any
exception when the database is shutdown and I call getDatabase(). I read that
Bruce suggested using DatabaseImpl.getConnection()for testing if
database is up, but no documentation on DatabaseImpl class is available
besides source code. I hope source code will be sufficient
for me. Also, Bruce mentioned something about not closing this
connection, so can someone further explain why?
