first off, I really appreciate your effort. Here's what is required to execute this 
tests.

a) Obtain the latest sources from the CVS repository.
b) Have a look at bug 1654 at http://bugzilla.exolab.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1654
c) obtain the patch as shown , and apply it to the sources.
d) build Castor JDO 
e) run e.g. the tests in src/tests/jdo or whatever sample app you might have.

Let me know whether this would be manageable on your side of things, and I'll be more 
than glad to assist you with any problems you might be having.
