you can't - which is rather annoying, but you can have your own
castor.properties file which just overrides this one

I think , you need
this property to be uncommented in castor.properties
org.exolab.castor.indent=true
This will indent the xml
generation neatly on new lines.

"\n" newline characters at end of all elements to that the marshalled xml is
not all on one line?
