It contains all the needed libraries. For example org/apache/xml/serialize/XMLSerializer is included in the xerces-J_1.4.0.jar archive in the lib directory. If you would want to use the smaller Castor distribution files, you would have to download the addition libraries from their own distrib sites, like http://xml.apache.org/xerces2-j/download.cgi .
