Thanks for the acknowledgement Bruce and all. But none of use would
have worked on this project if we didn't think it was something that
we could stand behind. A lot of us who are some what 'late comers' had
a great foundation to work off of. And I think we owe you, and the
other main contributers a lot for that.

Speaking of which...who orignally started the castor project? I know
you (bruce) obvisouly had a large part in it, but who else was on the
team? Keith perhaps?

Keith and Assaf started it out in 1999. I actually didn't come along until Summer/Fall of 2000 and didn't achieve committer status until 2001. In 2002 I became the JDO lead when Thomas no longer had the time to contribute. I've been away from the project this Fall somewhat just because of the book. I'm trying to complete it in December and return to the project more actively.

Aranud Blandin has been a big force on the XML side with Keith. There have been others who've come and gone as reflected in this doc:

Keith can certainly elaborate more on this topic. He should really create a history doc for the website explaining all of this (wink, wink, nudge, nudge - knowwhatimean?) ;-).
