Hi Werner,
Thanks, I saw that link after I posted the email to the group and just wanted confirmation :-) So, if I understand it right I can distribute the jar file as long as I have the license.txt file along with it?
We are using Castor for our XML serialization of some configuration objects in our system. Originally, I was coding this by hand with straight XML/DOM/XPATH to write out the configuration files. Castor is a great fit for our needs because I can now just concentrate on the JavaBean configuration objects and not worry about writing the XML de/serialization code anymore. It's already come in handy a few times because of some changes we made to the configuration objects. All I had to do was tweak my JavaBeans and the mapping file and be done with it.
I also looked at Jakarta's Digester package but thought Castor was more straightforward to work with from a configuration standpoint. I like how Castor uses XML files to define the behaviour of the serialization over Digesters hard-coding of a XML doc structure. At least that's how I've used it in the past..if it has an XML configuration I've never seen it.
Thanks, - Tim

Hi,
We'd are thinking of using Castor in a our commercial product and where wondering what are the license requirements? Is there a fee? Do we simply distribute the castor-xml.jar and the license file?
Thanks, - Tim
