Emir,
I am currently testing and refining a Castor JDO Plug-in for JBoss 3.2 and 4.0. I am hoping that it will eventually make it into the main Castor source tree in a future version. The plug-in is an MBean that sets up a JDO instance in JNDI for access by EJBs/DAOs/Servlets/whatever.
Would you be interested in receiving an example application with the plug-in binaries? I would value your feedback on it. I have been using it in my own applications with JBoss 3.2.x and SQL Server for some months and have had no problems. It is built against Castor-0.9.6 (CVS version.
Please email me directly if you are interested in this.
Alternatively, there was a similar MBean available as part of the JBoss source distribution that you must build yourself. I am not sure if it still functions with the latest versions of Castor.
I hope this helps.
Patrick

Subject: [castor-user] [JDO] Castor JDO and JBoss
Hi,
In my app I have a different parts that access the same database, a web app (several servlets) and a standalone Java app, running like a background process. Both of these parts access the sam db and update it. I would like to use Castor and it's caching, but I can not unless they're using the same Castor instance. Can I manage to do this by setting up Castor JDO inside JBoss?
Is it possible and is there any 'tutorial' on how to setup Castor JDO inside JBoss?
Thanks,
Emir
