nothing has been checked in so far, as I cannot get all tests to execute successfully. To test drive this, you'll have to download the sources from CVS and apply the latest patch from bug 1787.

feel free to use whatever's attached to bug 1787. Afair, I have not been able to get all tests of our CTF test suite running against Derby (3 non-functional tests), but it might all break down to one or two issues only.
