Just an FYI: Del Eric Bromwell from the Perry Hall area wrote back to me the following: " I too am opposed to this legislation and will be voting NO should it reach the floor of the entire House of Delegates"

I'm waiting to hear from the others.

     Phil,

Sounds good.  And the analogy is perfect.  The  proposed PFD bill is very much like requiring everyone aboard an airplane to always wear an oxygen mask, in case anything goes wrong.  The decision belongs to the pilot, and to the skipper.

But I am preaching to the choir.

I got on board too late to be effective.  My email was returned by the legislative mail service with the note that  it was unable to act as my delivery intermediary.  rats.

Following the NTSB lead on commercial airliner passenger safety rather than require everyone wear PFD require a safety orientation be given. Lifejackets are here, they go on like this, lifeboats are located here, and in case of emergency you will board them by.

That may be the best direct response to recent tragedies.

Please don't misunderstand my original post, I am not against PFD usage, I am against having to wear one if I choose not to.

And yes Phil there is a law about children.  I don't have any kids, so I don't know the specifics, but a good friend has a 2 year old and she is not allowed in the cockpit without her life jacket on.
