Cary,
I put a 2 bladed Martec on WYANOKEE (1986) four years ago and have never
regretted it. In Penobscot Bay there are an unbelievable number of
lobster pots and I was frustrated getting the pot warp caught on the
fixed two bladed prop while sailing. The Martec completely eliminated
the problem. We sail over pot warp all the time and I can't remember
ever being caught. That said, I have found the Martec to perform as
well as the fixed prop. in both forward and reverse (the Catalina 27 has
a mind of its own in reverse with any prop). I am finding that I power
quite a bit getting to and from races. Do it!

Has anyone changed their propeller to a folding propeller? I have an "86"
with a M18 and would like to change to a folding prop. Are there any better
brands out there? With a folding prop should I change the size? pitch? Any
info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Cary
