I have Ralph's name change ceremony posted (with his gracious permission) on my website at
http://www.ariasails.com/links.html It's near the top of the page. I used this to rename my S/V and it worked quite well; she hasn't reverted to her old name yet. I also added an element from another ceremony when I did the de-naming. It called for an ingot with the old name inscribed to be cast into the sea so that Poseidon could pick it up, read it, and take the old name off his rolls. I "inscribed" the old name with a Sharpie on a piece of aluminum stock and cast it into the water at my slip, where Poseidon could read it -- he can also use the razor knife, tape measure, screwdriver, sail stops, and vice grips that I've dropped in the same area over the past few years.
