Racor is approved for engine compartment useage.
They put them under about half the class 8 diesels on the highways, BUT
they are famous for sucking air !!! and they do make metal bowls... Personally ,
I would put in one of the Fleetguard spin on metal units with the water
seperator inside the unit. FS1000 is the number or something like that. It
has a water drain on the bottom too that you can put a short hose on the check
your fuel...
The other good news is that you can but that filter
at virtually any OEM or WD filter supplier and the head to mount it with such as
Brattain Intl or Freightliner...or FleetPride
Much cheaper way to go
