Which brings up another question:  What is the consensus on location for
thru-hull placement for these transducers.  It looks like our boat's
previous owner aborted one attempt so I'm really not sure where the "right"
place would be.

On a related note, I just put in two new thru-hulls for Raymarine ST-40
bi-data, used the old holes that were there for the original instruments,
and, as has been suggested on the board before, HUGE amounts of 5200.
Extremely messy (won't ever use 5200 without gloves and protection again --
was peeling it off for a week), but splashed two days ago and not a drop of
water...

Bottom line: even if the original hole is a bit bigger, at least with the
raymarine transducers that have a very wide lip around them, you can get
away with using the same hole and not adding any glass.
