HI Dave,

I’ve been using FUTURE acrylic floor finish on the non-skid. It provides a nice wet look shine after about the third coat. Since I haven’t devoted any energy to the application technique it comes out streaky on the smooth non-skid panel dividers. More coats in these areas helps but it faster just to use regular wax on the smooth areas.

I had one local friend try it on a C25 and was unhappy. He had been using Cetol (which is an amber liquid) on his boat for many years. He said the FUTURE discolored and turned “amber” after only one day in the sun. His boat had always looked shellacked to my eye and I suspect the FUTURE leached old Cetol out onto the surface.

It’s never discolored on my boat but it appears actual results may vary.

Subject: catalina27-talk: Non Skid Surface and polish

I think some use an acrylic floor polish on the non skid surfaces on their decks.  I have both white and tan non skid areas.   What have you found to work well?  Any problems with yellowing on the white surfaces?
