I think the blurriness comes from failing to get a slightly higher resolution PDF to fit and cutting the source images again to get the file that fit.

So a resize to 25% of a 30% GIF versus a direct resize of a large JPEG output to the 25% GIF. I expect we can have the same quality out of the PDf.

The pdf is harder to read, but much easier to scroll through and the better format in the long run I think. What causes the blurriness as opposed to the gif file?

I have a T1 at work here so its a snap to d/l or read, but  I don't even attempt to d/l pdf files with my dial up at home.

The file is readable, a little less than perfect but that is the way any scanned PDF file looks.

With DSL it downloads easily and was no trouble at all.

I’m looking forward to catching up on many years worth of issues.

Thanks for all the effort to get this online.

I’ve posted a PDF for the Mainsheet ’83 Summer issue.

The PDF format is faster for me as it allows a single file to be uploaded and linked. It took an hour to prep and link the first issue as pages. I can also use a drag and drop to reorder pages if they come out mixed up. It also makes the pages easier to printout for use at the boat on your end.

The downside is your download time.

I tried and failed to bump the resolution up a bit hitting a file size cap, so the PDF is big.

Please let me know if you think the PDF is too unwieldy. 90 issues to go.

After talking with Tech Support about on-line storage they suggested we try a lower resolution image. I’ve created a single issue and placed it on-line.

Please take a look at the images and see it they are legible at the resolution you normally view at.

Thanks,
