I've also used the drill mounted pump. Just remember that it cautions that it shouldn't be used with flammable fluids!
Also, my sender is conveniently located directly under the starboard engine wall. It's not coming out without some cutting/chopping.

Drill mounted pump sounds good. That's what I use. I have also used the same pump (with a new plastic hose) to pump out the water tank.John Jennings
