I dont have time to research it, but if you are talking about the
...97? Transpac (or was it 99?) Pye wasnt the only boat
to brake Merlins record. I think 5 or 6 boats did that year, and, as
with any distance record, it had as much to do with WX and
WX routing as it did with software (though I think
thats pretty neat to have a constant "here's how yer doin'"
electronic feedback.
