Jeff/Bob Thanks! I think I used 1 1/2". I got the PVC and end caps at Home Depot. The whole set-up cost was less than $15. I first cut the PVC to length then sanded the rough edges. Then I drilled the appropriate hole size for the appropriate stay in the end cap. After I assembled the cover/roller, I removed the stay from the turnbuckle, cleaned the stay/turnbuckle as needed, and then inserted the stay through the end cap and reattached it to the turnbuckle. The cover/roller is free to rotate. I've used this set-up on the C-22 I race and haven't had any headsail get hung up on the stays since doing so.

Where did you get the caps? Bob Mann -------------- Original message -------------- From: "Jones, Lance B" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Here they are Jeff. They were taken yesterday evening before the storm hit. So, the background is somewhat dark; but, I do hope they work for you. The lengths are Forward Lowers 5' and the Uppers 4'. I left the Aft Lower at 1' as I don't think it has ever hung up on me. As you can see, they rest easily on the chain plates. I also used a combination of Acetone and 250 grit sand paper to remove the labeling. The acetone was not able to remove all the paint/ink on the PVC. However, a light scrub with the sandpaper did the trick. The sandpaper didn't dull the finish as there wasn't to much sanding to do after the acetone did its number. ***** The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential, proprietary, and/or privileged material.
