I would use the quarter berth, but too much junk to move . 2) I have only the original lights, but I have a number of flashlight tucked here and there and p;plenty of batteries. 3) I use handhelds when it comes to the radio and GPS. I seldom need to talk to anyone over the horizon( I do have a Masthead antenna in that event) I usually just need to yell at the guy next to me to warn him I'm at ramming speed. The handheld GPS hasn't failed me yet and is fun to use in the car. As for a bigger boat, the 27 lets me stand when i want to, squat in some privacy when I need to, has a big enough cockpit to enjoy a few beers with friends, I own it and not the bank, and I can take it out by myself whenever I get the chance. It works for me and ultimately isn't that what it is all about. Dave Techlin "GUSTY" #1532 Trad. with shore power which is used in emergencies.
