Could this depend on the year? My '77 seems to have originally been exactly 34 feet, but had eight inches removed to accomodate a tabernacle one of the PO's had machined--inch-thick slabs of aluminum, holding sheaves and so forth and raising the mast mouse eight inches above the cabintop. So mine, as currently configured, would fit in your storage area, but originally would not have.
