Hi; I have a 1971 Catalina 27 (#65) and use a small window air conditioner to cool my boat. I place it on a piece of closed cell foam in the cockpit sole. I slide it back to leave and pull it into the companionway opening when I want the main cabin cooled. I have a piece of cockpit cushion foam that seals it across the top and my companionway curtain fills the upper part of the opening, and drapes over the cockpit cushion foam. It works well and is a cheap fix. If you want pictures I will be happy to supply them. David
