We customized 2 wood pieces that fit around it, replacing the bottom 2 companionway boards, when in use. Of course, we haven't needed since our first test....go figure. It is so small, it fits in my dock box when not in use. I can also lug it home easily if I have the need to use it elsewhere. ? Somewhere recently I saw online someone who used a standard 5k unit, secured it on the cabin top just behind the hatch, and rigged it up with waterproof canvas or something to vent into the boat, similar to the pricey marine version. We may consider a similar version?for next summer, so its easier to get in and out the companionway. ?
