Ted, You can buy a bilge flap from West Marine. Bob Deuer's C-27 site show the flap (Flapper Valves). I have used this flap over my engine exhaust...it doesn't hold up very well...I think the heat from the exhaust is too much for it.
I have never had the bilge siphon back into the bilge but have thought about using this flap to keep it from happening.
