As long as we're plugging rum, I had been drinking Cruzan for some time.
Then while in St. Thomas, I asked what the locals drank,. The liquor store
guy handed me a bottle of Cruzan Diamond Estate and I realized....I was
home!
BTW: TF, was that you who ordered plans for the i550? Got 'em yet? How they
look? Inquiring minds want to know.

Subject: RE: catalina27-talk: The Importance of Rum

I certainly have a soft spot in my heart (and head) for Mt Gay and all the
sponsorships
they make committments to in the world of performance sailing, but gimme
a handle of Gosling's Black Seal anyday with a couple sixes of Barritt's
Ginger Beer as a mixer.

ChrisD & ChrisD turned me on to these a while back (after, ironically, a
rather satisfying
Bacardi Cup out of Annapolis MD). We hit the dock and the D&S'es started
rolling out of
the galley and the rest of the afternoon was completely painless.

So, while the other rums are nice, gotta give proper respects to the
Bermuda distillers and
their country cousins who make the perfect mixer (Barritts) for the
perfect fuel, Gosling's.

Wish I had one right now....
