From nationalsailsupply.com you can order a new main for $700 that will be better than anything you get used. Do a comparison first.

Subject: Re: catalina27-talk: Where is everyone? Change of topic....sails

Only about a month here in N. Idaho before racing season starts and with any luck, the snow will be gone in our yard by then.  Plenty in the mountains to keep the lakes filled, but sailing season is coming.  I have a question for those of you who have been at this longer than I have.  Sails....new or used?  We sail a 1971 standard rig C27, hull 166.  After lots of work she looks good and sails well, but the sails are tired.  Not the original, but old anyway.  What luck have you had buying used sails, and from whom?  New sails are probably not in the budget this year.  Especially need the mainsail, and as I look at used sail sites, I see a bunch of J24 mains listed when I plug in C27.  Do they fit?  Is the roach not too large?  Does anyone out there have a good main that they are perhaps retiring from their boat?

Any help will be appreciated.
