I've seen a lot of threads on bulkhead replacements. Why did you replace
them? What do you see or look for to determine replacement ?

Steve......I replaced both bulkheads because of wood rot. I had a local
boat yard do the job.. It cost $1400.00, about 5 years ago.
They cut out the old wood and replaced it with marine grade plywood, and
then this plywood sheet was "sandwiched" in between two sheets of 1/8"
aluminum, then painted. This was all "kerfed" into the existing curves
and lines of the interior, so it looks quite good. Naturally, the
chainplates were then re-attached thru the aluminum and plywood sheets,as
originally designed. These sandwiched bulkheads were attached like the
originals, and I don't have that detail off-hand. A Marine Surveyor
pre-approved the job and inspected it afterwards, as it was part of his
Survey before I bought the boat. I paid for the repairs. I was well
satisfied with the job, and if I had ALL the proper tools, I feel I could
