I have put off replacing one of my bulkheads, but am going to replace it this
fall/winter. I found some information on the web that discusses using Coosa
Composite for bulkheads. Has anyone researched or used this material to
replace a bulkhead and to attach a chainplate? I like the idea of a bulkhead
that wouldn't rot if the boat is leaking. My concerns are as follows:
1. Is the material strong enough to attach the chainplates (bolts through the
material) and will it hold up over time?
2. Is it strong enough to withstand the forces that the cabin and hull will put
on it without cracking?
3. If the material gets wet (like my current bulkhead has) will it retain it's
strength and stiffness?
Thanks in advance for any help/information.
