I am thinking of replacing the halyard for the mailsail. I am just a cruiser with no interest in racing the boat. (Nothing wrong with racing, I'm just a Sunday driver...) I was thinking of a rope only solution just to save a couple bucks. Would your recommendation be to replace with a wire rope solution? Thanks for your thoughts. Steve

If I do this, will I have to replace the sheave as well? Also, how long will this need to be if I want to run the halyard back to the cockpit?
