I'm impressed by Chris's attitude. I think it would take more than a few
beers to make me forget that I had seen my wife flashing. On a Hinckley, no
less.

But Kevin's right, almost entirely so. After the sun sets and you go below,
even some of our C-27's look pretty darn nice. I've seen a couple great
examples along the way on members' websites. Jeane and I will be leaving
our own C-27 behind when we've got her refit finished, but that's a long
story. We're moving-I won't say up, but rather out-to a 42 foot Whitby
cutter ketch. The sunsets will look just the same, but we'll have a better
opportunity to see them from foreign ports or on bluewater passages, and
we'll have room for more books and tools below. But prior to taking off,
we're going to have to finish the work I've started on the C-27. I started
a blog a week ago to cover the background of our decision and our move from
Rockford, IL to Oriental, NC. I've written a bit about the C-27 and I'll be
including a great deal more along the way, so it may be of some interest to
a few of you. Oh, and there's a really outstanding movie clip from a pair
of Australian comedians in one of the posts-worth taking a peek just to see
that, perhaps. The link is http://gypsyjourney.wordpress.com. It does
contain pictures of my wife, but she's not flashing, and she's not on a
Hinckley.

However-I don't want to mention the other H-word, but we spent two days last
week on Lake Michigan in a Hunter 33, and on the second day in only about
7-8 knots of wind, using the in-mast-furling main and only a 110% genoa,
with Jeane steering upwind and me trimming, we made up half a mile and
hauled in a 45-foot Beneteau. So I don't care if she doesn't flash
anyone-she can sail pretty well for a gurl. <proud grin>

I feel so lucky to have the Catalina 27 I have. While I have no doubt that
the Hinckleys are beautiful, just remember that the view of the sunset is
just as sweet from a ten thousand dollar boat as it is from a ten million
dollar boat...

Those bows are funny as hell.

And I can get you hooked up with a Hinckley any time you think you can
handle one. Our best friends are brokers for Hinckley and we are lucky
enough to be able to get a ride about once a week.

I ask myself every week when my wife flashes by on which ever Hinckley is
available that week, why I am not there with them rather than killing myself
racing our beat up old boats.

Then we get a decent result, talk about what we did right and what we did
wrong over a few beers on the way back to the slip and don't question it
again for another 6 days....
