If you have trouble with Clew Knot Hang-up.... I might suggest that if you are using two sheets with the traditional (Terrible) Bowline Knot at the clew..... that you consider a smaller knot. Some other knots can be tied or slipped closer to the clew. Some HITCHES work well. I don't want to start a war, but there are lots of ways to bend on Line to a clew other than a Bowline (awful knot) :-). Some folks even use a single continuous line and a Cow hitch. I prefer... The "Ralph Hitch" (No, I'm not making this up. It can be seen in some maritime knot books such as Graumont's). But there are others.
