tf is right, and I have somewhere a simple design for an A frame that
worked well for Rich Walio and John Anderson. I know; I was there when
they used it.
tf is also right that 500 bucks seems high. Three years ago Oak harbor
marina charged me $300, and that included about $50 for extra work.
Things may have changed, though: recently OH charged me $135 for a
simple haul and bottom pressure spray. When I said that is was only $80
a year and a half ago, they replied, look whats happened to our fuel
bills since then. Very true.
I still recommend OH: they have alway been square with me.
If you're close by, I'll help with the A frame.

over 500 bux to pluck and reseat a mast sounds a bit steep.
Phillip the Younger probably do it for like a third of that up here on
the Pataps.
short of that, a gin pole or A frame and some guide ropes and people
("helpers") are adequate to pull the C27 mast...you
dont need no crane. (but cranes are nice, but so are herons)

Joe, and others,
Just down the Road from you at backyard Boats in Shady side, Maryland
(south of Annapolis) it's $150 Crane fee and 3 bucks a foot (EACH
WAY). For those who are in shock... That is $252 to take it down and
$252 to Raise it back up!
Get this, When the Rigger put the rig back up he attached the front
lowers to the inside hole on the uppers chain plate. I guess he
forgot to look up and see that the rig is a mast head rig!
