I wouldn't be a rumor if it were true. It was a CF27 not a C27 that he raced
in the PHRF Fleet in San Diego. By the time he was done the class was
re-rated devastating racing the CF27 forevermore.

There were some rumors a few years back about Dennis Connor buying and
tricking out a C27.  It would seem reasonable that he would name it Stars
and Stripes.
