FYI, djangopypi is a fork of chishop to separate the reusable and example 
server parts better. I already contributed a few patches lately and will keep 
working on it over the summer.

It worked in my manual tests but needs more testing with easy_install, et al. 
If anyone is interested, there is a buildout config included in the repository 
[1] which should get you up and running quickly.
