e1000: eth0: e1000_clean_tx_irq: Detected Tx Unit Hang under heavy load. Not sure whether that's a new problem, or just now occurring due to increased load; notably, the problems were much reduced over this weekend. People reported that this may be due to bugs in the Linux e1000 driver, but none of the suggested changes (most recent driver, various module parameters) had any positive effect. I have now moved PyPI to a different machine (the same as www.python.org), and see whether I can get the network card (or perhaps the cabling) replaced. www.python.org is a quite larger machine, so it should be able to cope with the extra load.
