As the PCC liaison to ALA's Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access (CC:DA), my responsibilities include:

- Collecting PCC feedback on proposals and discussion papers regarding changes to RDA

- Providing those comments to CC:DA to help inform the ALA position on each paper

- Facilitating the creation and dissemination of PCC proposals for RDA change to CC:DA for consideration

               - Reporting on PCC activities at CC:DA meetings

- Summarizing CC:DA meetings for PCC (forthcoming from ALA Annual in Anaheim)

For those of you who wish to follow RDA activity more closely, I recommend:

·Subscribing to the [rules] list: See http://lists.ala.org/wws/info/rules for details.

·Checking the CC:DA website for documents under discussion: http://www.libraries.psu.edu/tas/jca/ccda/

·Following updates to the JSC working documents website: http://www.rda-jsc.org/workingnew.html

In addition, a list of potential proposals for JSC consideration in November is available at: http://www.rda-jsc.org/2012possibleproposals.html.

CC:DA has established an internal deadline of July 25 for its RDA change proposals to be considered at the November 2012 JSC meeting. Many of these proposals are already in draft form and were discussed at CC:DA during its meetings in Anaheim; however, most of them have not yet been finalized. The current proposals are linked from the CC:DA agenda for that meeting: http://www.libraries.psu.edu/tas/jca/ccda/agen1206.html. If you have comments on any of these for CC:DA to consider, please drop me a note.

CC:DA will also need to respond to proposals from other constituencies in advance of the JSC meeting. While no specific deadlines have yet been established for CC:DA feedback, I would be happy to forward any comments from PCC members for their consideration. Some proposals that are already available are:

Please send your comments directly to me and not to the PCC list; I will contribute them to the CC:DA wiki. If you have an opportunity to comment on these papers through multiple CC:DA liaisons or voting members, please select just one of us to contribute on your behalf.

Additional papers will likely be made available for comment before the JSC meeting. As they are published, I will make an announcement asking for feedback on this list.

Please contact me if you have any questions about the above. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
