TECHNICAL NOTICE (May 29, 2013) Additions to the MARC Code Lists for Relators, Sources, Description Conventions
Network Development and MARC Standards Office Library of Congress The source codes listed below have been recently approved. The codes will be added to the applicable Source Codes for Vocabularies, Rules, and Schemes lists. See the specific source code lists for current usage in MARC fields and MODS/MADS elements. The codes should not be used in exchange records until 60 days after the date of this notice to provide implementers time to include newly-defined codes in any validation tables. Description Convention Source Codes The following source codes have been added to the Description Convention Source Codes list for usage in appropriate fields and elements. Additions: dcgpm - Descriptive Cataloging Guidelines for Pre-Meiji Japanese Books (Subcommittee on Japanese Rare Books, Committee on Japanese Materials, Council on East Asian Libraries) kbsdb - Katalogiseringsregler og bibliografisk standard for danske biblioteker (Ballerup: Dansk BiblioteksCenter) Subject Heading and Term Source Codes The following source codes have been added to the Subject Heading and Term Source Codes list for usage in appropriate fields and elements. Additions: dltlt - Cuddon, J. A. A dictionary of literary terms and literary theory (Oxford ; Malden, Mass.: Blackwell) dltt - Quinn, E. A dictionary of literary and thematic terms (New York, NY: Facts on File, Inc.) fssh - FamilySearch Subject Headings (FamilySearch) odlt - Baldick, C. The Oxford dictionary of literary terms (Oxford ; New York: Oxford University Press) pepp - The Princeton encyclopedia of poetry and poetics.
