The ALCTS Subject Analysis Committee is pleased to announce that a
presentation and discussion will be held on the Library of Congress Medium
of Performance Thesaurus for Music (LCMPT) at its second Committee meeting
at ALA Annual Conference, Las Vegas.

Date: Mon June 30, 2014

Time: 1-2:00 pm

Location: LVH-Pavilion 01 (Las Vegas Hotel)

Summary:

The Library of Congress's newest controlled vocabulary, the Library of
Congress Medium of Performance Thesaurus for Music (LCMPT) was released in
February 2014. How are catalogers using it? What challenges have they come
across? How will these terms be used in the future? Hermine Vermeij, Casey
Mullin, Nancy Lorimer, and Janis Young will lead an informal presentation
and discussion on LCMPT. Bring your questions and share your experiences in
using the medium of performance terms.

Our presenters have varied experience in working with the development of
LCMPT through ALA, the Music Library Association, and the Library of
Congress.
