Today's Topics: 1. [CLA TSIG] Vice Chair / Chair Elect (Julie Moore)
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi All! I am putting out a call for the CLA TSIG Vice Chair/Chair Elect position. The nice thing about the Vice Chair position is that it gives the person a year to kind of watch and see what the Chair does, while working together with the Chair. It is a great way to be involved at the state level! Plus, you get to meet many technical services friends throughout the state. Anyone who has been on the CLA TSIG knows that we are a very friendly bunch of folks. The Chair and Vice Chair are very much supported by a strong Advisory Board, which helps out with all sorts of activities. The folks on the Advisory Board don't just advise, they also help by seeing through continuing education programming during the Spring Fling and during the annual conference, they serve on award juries, and they help out with just about every aspect of this interest group. Here are the goals of the CLA TSIG: - To provide continuing education programs on Technical Services subjects - To facilitate exchange of ideas among those with day-to-day Technical Services responsibilities - To incorporate new technology in the Technical Services workflow - To acknowledge an outstanding individual in Technical Services with the Technical Services Award of Achievement <http://www.cla-net.org/general/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=303> - To acknowledge a new leader who has actively and enthusiastically embraced their role within both TSIG and CLA with the Technical Service New Leader Award <http://www.cla-net.org/general/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=305> - To contribute to the overall success of the California Library Association If interested in the Vice Chair/Chair Elect position, please contact me with some information about yourself by December 1st.
