---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 The ALCTS New Members Interest Group (ANMIG) is seeking two volunteers to serve as Vice Co-chair and Student liaison for 2015-2016. Since 2009 ANMIG has been an energetic group that is focused on the interest of new ALCTS members and new information professionals. The group is charged with developing interest group meetings at ALA conferences, helping new members of ALCTS assimilate to the division, plan virtual events and share pertinent information to the larger library community. Highlighted below are the responsibilities of the vice co-chair and student liaison officer positions. If this sounds like an exciting opportunity please send a short bio and a few sentences about why you are interested in the position to the incoming co-chairs Alissa Hafele ([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>) and Heylicken ?Hayley? Moreno ([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>). Vice Chair: This position serves a one-year term, from July 1 to June 30 (at the close of ALA Annual Conference). The positions can be virtual, conference attendance is not required, but encouraged. The ALCTS New Member Interest Group (ANMIG) Vice Chair is responsible for shadowing the Chair in preparation to take on that responsibility in the coming year. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Fills in for the chair in his/her absence * Making recommendations for new ANMIG chats and activities * Helping plan chats and/or programs * Assisting online or in person with programming for ALCTS 101 during ALA Annual and Midwinter Conferences Student Liaison: This position serves a one-year term, from July 1 to June 30 (at the close of ALA Annual Conference). This position can be virtual, and conference attendance is not required, but welcomed. The primary responsibility for the Student Liaison is to help develop ANMIG activities that would be relevant to current MLIS students. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Reaching out to student ALA Chapters * Making recommendations for new ANMIG chats and activities that would be relevant to current MLIS students * Assisting online or in person with programming for ALCTS 101 during ALA Annual and Midwinter Conferences We look forward to hearing from you!
