The Person Entity Lookup pilot is designed to learn more about how linked
data will influence library workflows in the future. It will help library
professionals reduce redundant data by linking related sets of person
identifiers and authorities. To date, participating libraries include
Cornell University, Harvard University, the Library of Congress, the
National Library of Medicine, the National Library of Poland, Stanford
University and the University of California, Davis.

A new study, published in the journal Intelligence, found that the use of
computers and mobile phones could partly explain why senior citizens today
appear to be four to eight years younger, cognitively speaking, than a
similar population less than a decade ago. The positive effect stands up
even after controlling for factors such as education, gender and health.
