Introduction to LC's Music Medium of Performance and Genre Vocabularies Workshop Wednesday, October 28, 2015, 2:30-4p EST Presented by Nancy L Lorimer, Casey Mullin, and Hermine Vermeij This webinar will introduce catalogers to two new Library of Congress vocabularies which are taking the place of LCSH for music scores and recordings. The Library of Congress Medium of Performance Thesaurus for Music (LCMPT) and the music portion of the Library of Congress Genre/Form Thesaurus (LCGFT) represent a new chapter in access to music materials. They are intended to be the preferred vocabularies for use with music materials. This workshop will help catalogers gain familiarity with the new medium of performance and genre terms, including how to identify appropriate terms, best practices for their use, and practical cataloging examples.
