Introducing RDA

Thursday, February 11, 2016
2 PM Eastern | 1 PM Central
12 PM Mountain | 11 AM Pacific

As more libraries around the world adopt [RDA: Resource Description and
Access (RDA)] RDA: Resource Description and Access, knowledge of this new
standard is crucial. RDA has tremendous potential for helping libraries and
information-based organizations move into the digital world. It can also be
a major anxiety point for catalogers who aren?t sure what they need to learn
to get started. Our expert panel for this webcast will discuss how RDA is
different from MARC, how librarians can get started with RDA, and will share
their own experiences.

Our panel will include:

  * Gordon Dunsire, RDA Steering Committee Chair, Independent Consultant
  * Kathy Glennan, ALA/ALCTS representative to the RDA Steering Committee
and Authorities & Specialty Cataloging Unit Head, University of Maryland
Libraries, College Park
  * James Hennelly, Managing Editor, RDA Toolkit

This episode of AL Live will be hosted live on Thursday, February 11th at 2
