ANMIG = ALCTS New Members Interest Group.

ANMIG chats are moving to Twitter! Please join us for our inaugural ANMIG
twitter chat on March 29th from 3 to 4 p.m. EST where we will be conversing
on developing your professional identity in librarianship. If you wish to
send us questions on this topic beforehand please submit them to the
moderators by twitter or email; Alissa Hafele (@ahafele or
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>) and Hayley Moreno
(@hayleym1218 or [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>) we'll make sure to
ask them during the chat. ANMIG twitter chats will follow a similar format
to other library chats (e.g. #libchat). Moderators will tweet out questions
starting with Q [number of question] (e.g. Q1, Q2, and Q3). Followers will

CaMMS = Cataloging and Metadata Management Section

ALCTS CaMMS Cataloging Norms Interest Group seeks speakers to present at ALA
Annual Conference in Orlando on Saturday, June 25th, 2016 at 10:30-11:30.

Cataloging Norms Interest Group offers a forum for the exploration,
communication, and exchange of ideas and best practices on the dynamics of
cataloging/metadata norms and workflows in the hybrid environment.

Presentation topics should be of current interest to catalogers, cataloging
managers and administrators, and be approximately 15-20 minutes in length.

Additional time will be allowed for questions and discussion.

Possible topics include (but not limited to):
*    Cataloging and metadata norms in hybrid and digital libraries
*    Linked data implementation in libraries
*    The impact of RDA on non-MARC cataloging
*    Experimentation with the BIBFRAME model
*    Role of the cataloging/metadata librarian in data curation and
research data services
*    Cataloging/Metadata librarian collaboration with other library
units and beyond the library
*    Quality control and benchmarking
*    Cataloging/metadata norms in cataloging education

2016.

The ALCTS CMS Collection Evaluation and Assessment Interest Group welcomes
proposals for presentations at  the 2016 ALA Annual Conference.  The meeting
is scheduled for Sunday, June 26th from 1:00 - 2:30 PM.  We will be altering
the format of the meeting to include up to two 20- minute presentations
followed by a series of lightning talks.

For the traditional presentations, each speaker will be allotted 20 minutes
for presentation followed by questions and group discussion.  For the
lightning talks, each speaker will have 5 minutes to present with Q&A as
time allows.  All topics related to collection evaluation and assessment are
welcome.  The proposed topics for presentations include but are not limited
to the following:

*         Review or comparison of collection analysis tools

*         Comparison of print and electronic assessment methods

*         How to determine user satisfaction with collections

*         How to measure the value of our collections  (not just monetarily
or through CPU)

*         eBook Assessment and Management

*         Data visualization tools or projects

*         what determines the lifespan of a book

April 30, 2016.
