Featured speaker Kathryn Deiss, library consultant and ACRL content
strategist, will provide an overview of mentoring - why it's important;
basics of the mentor/mentee relationship; challenges of a remote
relationship; and how to become a mentor or find a mentor. Deborah Tenofsky
will discuss the LLAMA Mentoring Program and LLAMA mentor/mentee pair Janice
Flug and Sarah Norris will share their experiences. Hayley Moreno of the
ALCTS New Members Interest Group will share a report on Establishing an
ALCTS Mentoring Program

The Publications Committee of the Collection Management Section of ALCTS is
sponsoring the Seventh Annual Collection Management & Development Research
Forum at the 2016 American Library Association Annual Conference in Orlando.
Sunday, June 26, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Orange County Convention Center, Room W108

 Lynn Wiley will discuss two demand driven e-book packages for Humanities
university press books that use different measures for determining demand.
This work compares triggered demand models for e-book purchasing with
evidence based demand purchasing. Lynn is Head of Acquisitions at the
University of Illinois Urbana Champaign University Libraries.

Wenli Gao and Cherie Turner will describe their research into monograph
usage that compares the usage patterns of books acquired via approval plan
with those acquired through firm orders and incorporates interlibrary loan
data for analysis.  Wenli is the Communication, Sociology, and Anthropology
Librarian at the University of Houston Libraries and Cherie Turner is the
Chemical Sciences Librarian at the University of Houston Libraries.

Kristin Calvert will discuss a citation analysis of research published by
Western Carolina University faculty and staff to determine whether a
statistically-significant relationship exists between academic department
and the type(s) of research cited in its faculty's scholarship. The result
of this analysis is then used to apply adjustments across all subject areas
in the library's allocation formula. Kristin is Assistant Professor and
Department Head of Content Organization & Management at Hunter Library,
Western Carolina University.
